Turkey Hunting Quick Tips:

To make your spring gobbler hunt successful and safe, hunters need to take some basic precautions to protect themselves and protect others. Always let someone know where you are hunting and when you plan to return. Know where others may be hunting in your vicinity and never assume you are "the only one hunting there." Hunt "defensively" and make sure of your target and beyond before pulling the trigger. ALWAYS use basic safe firearms handling practices. Safety and courtesy are FREE, use them generously and always. Below are a few tips to help make your trip a success:

Turkey Hunting Quick Tip #1- Don't call to loud when you first set up. Start by calling very softly and gradually turn up the volume of your calls if you don't get a response with in 15-20 minutes.

Turkey Hunting Quick Tip #2- If you are calling like crazy and just don't get a response from a group of turkeys watch were they are headed and try and get around in front of the group for a ambush.

Turkey Hunting Quick Tip #3- In the late season some times setting up in the midmorning can be productive. By mid morning many of the hunters have left the woods and the birds start moving around. The more time you spend in the woods the better your odds of harvesting that long beard.

Turkey Hunting Quick Tip #4-  If you carry more then one box call take them apart and tune them to sound like different birds. Like humans each turkey sounds slightly different
