Taking A Good Turkey Hunting Picture

Taking good hunting and fishing photographs is no real chore with a little planning. If you are taking a hunting photo of a harvested trophy animal there are some simple rules to follow. First you want to insure that your photos show both you and your trophy with great dignity.

Next you want to be sure that the animal, the background and the hunter are all depicted in the best way possible. If there is a visible wound cover it up with your Firearm or bow, and make sure that rifle is pointed in a safe direction.

Make sure that the Area is clean of trash and in a natural outdoor setting. Forget game poles, the back of pick up trucks, and comedy shots. All this does is make the hunter look bad later on, and no media group will publish it. If your are a fisherman the same goes for allowing your trophy the dignity that it deserves. After all, in many cases it may be the fish trophy of a lifetime.

If you intend to keep your fish, photograph a visit to the taxidermist, or even Mom cooking up a mess of fish for dinner. If you’re into catch and release, show the fish as you release it for someone else to catch later. Once again it’s not a good idea to take comedy shots, unless of course you want to “Kiss your Bass.” Pass it on.
