Discounted Licenses For Seniors On The Horizon For Kansas Hunters
A bill with two options for discounted licenses for seniors is on it's way to the state senate for a vote.

Utah DWR Releases 72 South Dakota Turkeys
After transporting the birds from South Dakota, the Division of Wildlife Resources released 24 wild turkeys on the north side of the LaSal Mountains. The remaining 48 turkeys found a new home on Elk Ridge.

Plenty Of Permits Left For Wisconsin Spring Turkey Hunt
Turkey permits issued by the Department of Natural Resources through the spring turkey preference drawing numbered 137,598 for Wisconsin’s 2012 spring wild turkey season.

Nebraska Spring Turkey Permits Now Available
Spring turkey hunting permits are now available from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. The archery season is March 25-May 31. The youth shotgun season is April 7-May 31 and the regular shotgun season is April 14-May 31.

Applications For 2012 Wisconsin Turkey & Bear Permits Due December 10
Wild turkey and black bear hunters have until close of business on Dec. 10 to apply for available permits for the 2012 Wisconsin spring turkey hunting season and the 2012 black bear hunting season.

Pennsylvania Game Commission Supports Sunday Hunting
The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners today approved a resolution to support repeal of the statutory prohibition on Sunday hunting. The vote on the resolution, which was proposed by Game Commissioner Jay Delaney Jr. and seconded by Game Commissioner Ralph A. Martone, was four in support, three opposed and one abstention. Those voting in support of the resolution were Game Commissioners Delaney, Martone, David J. Putnam and Robert W. Schlemmer. Those voting in opposition were Game Commissioners Thomas E. Boop, David W. Schreffler and Ronald A. Weaner. Game Commissioner Gregory J. Isabella abstained.

Virginia Turkey Harvest Up 3%
Virginia spring turkey hunters reported harvesting 15,687 birds during the 2011 season. The statewide harvest was 3% higher than last year's total of 15,190 birds.

Wet Weather Hampers 2011 Illinois Turkey Harvest
Hunters in Illinois harvested a preliminary statewide total of 15,121 wild turkeys during the 2011 Spring Turkey Season. The 2011 total compares with the statewide turkey harvest of 16,565 in 2010. Hunters took a state-record 16,605 turkeys during the spring season in 2006.

17 hunting accidents recorded in Kansas in 2010
The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) reports that there were 17 hunting incidents in Kansas in 2010, five more than the record low of 12 in 2009. One of the accidents was fatal.
