Nebraska Fall Turkey Tags Available Now
Hunters may purchase their fall turkey permits now through the end of the year, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. The fall season is Sept. 15-Dec. 31.

Pennsylvania Game Commission Supports Sunday Hunting
The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners today approved a resolution to support repeal of the statutory prohibition on Sunday hunting. The vote on the resolution, which was proposed by Game Commissioner Jay Delaney Jr. and seconded by Game Commissioner Ralph A. Martone, was four in support, three opposed and one abstention. Those voting in support of the resolution were Game Commissioners Delaney, Martone, David J. Putnam and Robert W. Schlemmer. Those voting in opposition were Game Commissioners Thomas E. Boop, David W. Schreffler and Ronald A. Weaner. Game Commissioner Gregory J. Isabella abstained.
Virginia Turkey Harvest Up 3%
Virginia spring turkey hunters reported harvesting 15,687 birds during the 2011 season. The statewide harvest was 3% higher than last year's total of 15,190 birds.
Wet Weather Hampers 2011 Illinois Turkey Harvest
Hunters in Illinois harvested a preliminary statewide total of 15,121 wild turkeys during the 2011 Spring Turkey Season. The 2011 total compares with the statewide turkey harvest of 16,565 in 2010. Hunters took a state-record 16,605 turkeys during the spring season in 2006.
17 hunting accidents recorded in Kansas in 2010
The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) reports that there were 17 hunting incidents in Kansas in 2010, five more than the record low of 12 in 2009. One of the accidents was fatal.
Ohio Turkey Harvest Down 21%
Hunters checked 18,485 wild turkeys during Ohio's four-week, statewide spring turkey hunting season that ended May 15, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife. The preliminary total represents a 21 percent decrease over last year's harvest number of 23,421 -- the second-highest all-time.
New Turkey Registration System In Ohio This Season
Hunters must still report their harvest of turkeys but they are no longer required to take their turkey to a check station for physical inspection according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife.
West Virginia Turkey Season Opens April 25
The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (DNR) encourages hunters to get their gear ready for the upcoming spring gobbler hunting season. The four-week season opens Monday, April 25, and closes on Saturday, May 21, according to Curtis I. Taylor, chief of the Wildlife Resources Section. Hunters may kill two bearded turkeys during the season but are allowed only one per day.
