Second Amendment Right To Bear Arms
The full text of the Second Amendment says, "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
Every day there are new legislative attacks on your second amendment rights. This section of the site is dedicated to keeping the law abiding hunter up to date on the latest issues that affect your right to bear arms. Foremost Hunting is not meant to be a political activist type of site, but we do beleive that if we (the hunters) don't stand up for our rights we will eventually loose them.
Here is a Youtube clip from Ted Nuggent With His View On Gun Control:
On Thursday June 26th 2008 the Supreme Court ruled that the Constitution protects an individual's right to bear arms, while leaving room for governments to regulate gun ownership. The ruling repudiates the long-held notion that the right to bear arms is strictly linked to militia service. Instead, the court concluded that it's an individual right untethered to military or government necessity. This will make it easier for gun-rights advocates to resist new regulations and overturn existing laws.
The 5-4 ruling, written by Justice Antonin Scalia, clipped the extreme ends off the debate. An outright ban on handguns was found to be unconstitutional, but Scalia's opinion defended government's authority to enact "reasonable restrictions" on gun possession. - seattletimes.com
DID YOU KNOW-
Most animal activist values are not shared by the majority of North Americans. Polls show widespread public support for wildlife management that includes such practices as hunting. However, nearly all people object to the notion of killing animals simply for amusement. Also, both hunters and animal rights activists believe that habitat loss is one of the greatest threat to wildlife populations.
