Watch Pheasants Forever Television on Outdoor Channel, American's Leader in Outdoor TV

Saint Paul, Minn. - September 22, 2008 - A shotgun blast that sounds as loud as a BB gun? You'll have to hear it to believe it on this week's episode of Pheasants Forever Television, airing on Outdoor Channel on Thursday, Sept. 25th at 10PM CDT / 11PM EDT. The episode will also air on Friday, Sept. 26th at 10AM CDT / 11AM EDT and again on Saturday, Sept. 27th at 5:30PM CDT / 6:30PM EDT.

Wendell Diller, a Minnesota inventor, has created the "Quiet Gun," a shotgun with a barrel extension containing a series of holes that mutes the noise of a typical blast. The result from the seven-foot shotgun is a blast that registers slightly louder than the average BB gun. Diller hopes the "Quiet Guns" and lessened noise lead to more hunting opportunities in urban areas. Some Minnesota youngsters get the opportunity to do just that, trying out the "Quiet Guns" on a goose hunt just north of the Twin Cities. The hunt was made possible in part by Kinship Partners, a program that has been providing role models and guidance to central Minnesota youth for over 20 years.

Also, host Ron Schara travels to western Minnesota's windy Buffalo Ridge for a unique pheasant hunt with the Buffalo Ridge Chapter of Pheasants Forever. You'll be blown away as you join Schara and Buffalo Ridge chapter president Jeff Davis for a hunt on CRP habitat beneath the towering wind generators that line Buffalo Ridge.
