Watch Pheasants Forever Television on Outdoor Channel, America's Leader in Outdoor TV

Saint Paul, Minn. - August 6, 2008 - Grand slams are usually reserved for the baseball diamond, but this week on Pheasants Forever Television, you'll see how wildlife artist John House stroked one out of the park. The episode airs on Outdoor Channel on Thursday, Aug. 7th at 10PM CDT / 11PM EDT. The episode will also air on Friday, Aug. 8th at 10AM CDT / 11AM EDT and again on Saturday, Aug. 9th at 5:30PM CDT / 6:30PM EDT.

Pheasants Forever Television goes inside the studio with wildlife artist John House. Every year for over 30 years, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has held annual art contests where artists compete for the honor of having their artwork on the actual small stamps that hunters and fishermen must purchase. Over the years John has entered these contests approximately 15 times to get his wins, and upon winning the Turkey Stamp, he became the first and only artist to win all four of Minnesota's four Stamp contests pheasant, duck, trout and turkey - the "Minnesota Grand Slam."

The Man Afield, Bill Sherck, and Pheasants Forever Television also join Nobles County chapter president Les Johnson for a hunt on "Pheasant Run One." Purchased by the chapter in 1986, the land was turned over to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and is now a Wildlife Management Area open to public hunting and recreation.
It was a milestone event, as PF chapters have now completed over 1,000 such acquisitions in conjunction with local, state, and federal natural resource agencies across the country all areas which are open to the public for hunting.

Finally, this week's episode also features a trip to South Dakota to visit with the Warne family. Cody Warne shows Pheasants Forever Television how he manages his 2,000 acres for pheasants. A combination of nesting cover, roosting cover, and shelter belts has done the trick for creating a pheasant paradise on the family ranch.

Every episode of Pheasants Forever Television contains informative tip segments including Shotgun Savvy sponsored by Browning, Habitat Habit brought to you by Pheasants Forever and Gun Dog Savvy sponsored by Purina.
