During the winter, Quail stay together in large groups called coveys. The birds will often make a circle, with the birds on the outside facing away from the middle, insulating those on the inside from the cold. After some time, those on the inside rotate to the colder outside.

| Public Land Access Improved Thanks to Iowa NWTF by host | The National Wild Turkey Federation’s Iowa State Chapter continues to make public hunting access a priority, having already contributed $72,000 toward the purchase of 812 acres of land in the Hawkeye State in 2008.
