Escape into the tranquil world of Covey Rise. Only an hour from Louisiana’s two largest metropolitan areas, New Orleans and Baton Rouge, this country retreat provides the ultimate destination for entertaining business clients, conducting corporate meeting and seminars, or gathering with friends and family.
Covey Rise has duck hunting in a natural setting with a controlled environment where time and weather are not factors. Our ducks are strong flyers and challenging targets for the gun.
Professionally trained guides and field dogs work in tandem in the fields to find the birds for the guests. Hunting behind dogs is an exhilarating experience! The dogs love the hunt and want nothing more than to find those birds for you. The pointers go on point, the flushing dogs move in to flush the birds, the hunter takes his or her (shot's), and the retrievers are off in search of the kill. The quail walk-up hunts may be taken in the morning (9:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m.) or the afternoon (2:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m.)
A European style pheasant shoot arranged in a circle with ten (10) stations accommodating (1-2 shooters) at different yardages from the tower. At each station (15-20) pheasants will be released and shooters will rotate to the next station until all shooters have shot from every station. At the end of the shoot the harvested birds will be divided between all of the shooters. While birds are being processed lunch will be served for all hunters. There is a minimum of ten (10) shooters with a maximum of twenty (20) shooters.
