All of Hawaii's game animals are introduced species. Hawaii has both Axis deer and Black-tailed deer. Axis deer can be found on the islands of Molokai, Lanai and Maui. The black tailed deer is only found on the island of Kauai. In order to be a deer hunting guide in Hawaii, you must posess a license from the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources

| Hunting License Requirements and Game in Hawaii by host | Hunting in Hawaii requires a hunting license whether you hunt on public or private land. In order to purchase a Hawaii Hunting License, you must possess one of the following documents:
- a Hawaii Hunter Education Wallet Card; or
- a Letter of Exemption.
Hawaii Hunter Education Wallet Cards are issued to graduates of our basic course and you may use it to purchase a Hawaii Hunting License directly from a license agent. |
