Have any of you ever tried bow hunting for turkey?    I would think it would be hard to draw your bow while sitting on the ground.   Do you hunt from a blind or in a tree?

I've never tried it, but I do have a question about shot placement? Where do you aim with the arrow when turkey hunting? I think they are hard enought to get with a gun, but it would be fun to try with a bow.

I see you can purchase a funky looking turkey broadhead called the Gobbler Guillotine™ at Cabellas. It is suppose to be good for head shots. The reveiws on the cabellas site were mixed on how good it works. Most of the 3d courses I shot show the kill zone in the main body of the turkey.

I have hunted turkey using a bow with some success over the years. There are several kill zones on a turkey with the best being a broadside shot right in the middle of the bird, or the neck area when the bird is facing you. Just try to avoid the tough breast bone and breast meat. You will want to use some sort of blind or natural set-up that will allow you to draw you bow and not get "busted." This is especially true when there are several turkey present. I have also shot a bird out of a tree stand during early deer season. - Archer
