So I'm in the market for a turkey vest.  (Up until now I have been using my deer hunting pack to haul everything around) anyway, what do you guys think is the best vest for the money?

Mother Turkey VestI really like the Mother turkey vest. It is a bit on the spendy side, but it is well made and I really like the built in seat. I love the magnetic pocket closers and the orange flag to keep you from getting shot is pretty cool.

Not getting shot is always a plus. Do you guys ever hang an orange flag from the tree that you are sitting by? I don't but it might not be the best practice?!

Do you think a flag would scare away the bird? It is my understanding that turkeys can see colors really well? I always try and let a approaching hunter know where I am. Maybe a cough or a loud hello.

I did have a few hippy hikers checking out my decoys last trip. I was deep in a state forest and the only place to set up was a old logging trail. Sure enough a guy and a girl with backpacks came along and when they say my decoys they froze for a few seconds and then took a few steps and finally determined that they were plastic. They never did spot us in the blind however. I guess that real tree stuff works good for hippies.

It is my understanding that turkey can see color. I have never worn blaze orange. When a hunter or a hippie comes through, I usually whistle.
