So with just about every season closed up here in the Northwoods, it's time to get focused on turkeys!  My season opens in about 8 weeks.  What are you doing to get ready for chasing gobblers?

I'm gloating, looking at the 2010 Louisiana turkey regulation, I got to see "Uncle John's Law" in writing. With that everybody if they want to can hunt turkeys with a crossbow. Last year even though deer hunting was legal, and turkey was suposed to be they once again stonewalled us, just by not adding it to the pamplet and then refused to make agmentations. Last year and many years before that numerous handicapped hunters could not turkey hunt at all as they could not take the recoil of a turkey gun or pull a vriticle bow. Now everybody can use a crossbow, shotgun, or verticle bow.

To celebrate the victory I got myself some Magnus Bullheads for the Horton, they look pretty wicked for both head shots and body shot and work in both veritcle and horizontal bows. I'll be testing a new type of turkey call that is so secret if I tell you I got to kill myself for being stupid. If it works and it should it will be like nothing else.

First I'm going to take out the rent-a-kid that I have been neglecting, for the youth turkey hunt.

Well I tried the bullheads in my Horton crossbow, for a broadhead that is supposed to shoot with the field points, they were a foot low and about a foot to the right. I went back to my Magnus Stingers and they shot perfectly.
