What type of broadhead do you use to harvest deer with?  When I talk with my hunting friends some believe that their fix broadheads are better because they cut on contact.  Where others say that their expandable broadheads fly like field points.  I have used Rocket expandable broadheads for the past few years and love them. What do you shoot and why?

I'm a big believer in expandables.  Accuracy is a no brainer and they simply create bigger wound channels and better blood trails.  I look to the guys who kill more with archery equipment than anyone I know and use what they use.  What do they use?  Rage.  The chisel point looks awesome but if I buy a new pack of broadheads this year it will probably be the 2.3" Rage.  WE'RE TALKING MASSIVE CARNAGE!!!  But many of those guys like Rocket broadheads as well.   I don't think you're going wrong there.  Although I will be doing a video demonstration in the next week that shows the advantage of a two blade broadhead.  It is incredible once you see it.   I talked to a guy a few weeks ago that has been in the archery industry for decades and he won't even consider a fixed broadhead.  Check out these wounds from a deer I killed last year with a rage.  The first one is the entry and the second is the exit wound.  Look at those and tell me the broadhead didn't cut on contact!

    EXIT WOUND

The deer was on the ground kicking five seconds after the arrow went through him.

I am a rage man!!! They are devastating and the deer I pursue and deserve nothing but the best. I will never go back to a fixed blade.

I use Rage and don't plan on changing.  I love them.  The blood trails are unreal and the holes they leave in animals is amazing. I killed a deer in 2006 with a 3-blade Rage (before Rage heads were as popular as they are now) and a buddy of mine walked up to the deer and said, "What in the hell did you shoot him with?!?!?!"  That's how much damage was done.

I shot a video with the guys from A-1 Archery last year. We were doing some videos about broadheads. The archery guy was doing a comparison with mechanicals versus fixed blades. He tried to do advantages and disadvantages but couldn't come up with any advantages of fixed blades over the modern mechanicals. We ended up just doing a video on mechanicals.

I guess that goes to show you what the pros use.
