    Hi all,

I just wanted to introduce myself to all you guys on the forum. I'm Sam a longtime lurker from the woods of new hampshire who would like to share a bow. I was kinda leaning towards the archery and hunting and just wanted to ask your opinion on each of the bows and the 09 Z if you have shot it. I plan on primarly using it for deer hunting and spots. I'm interested in anything hunting/bowhunting/archery/outdoors and hopefully glean some info from the more experienced.

    Thanks

    Sam

     Hi Sam,

Welcome to the forums.  Don't hesitate to ask a question.  Unlike many of the other forums out there you'll find most of the folks at Foremost Hunting to be of the friendly sort.

Honestly if your getting in to archery hunting, you can't go wrong with any of the big name brand bows. Mathews makes and awesome product, and i think you are going in the right direction by spending the money on a few year old good quality bow, instead of buy a newer lower quality bow. The major manufactures make there products to last and you will get a much higher return rate on your dollar from the mathews, than the lesser bow from the big box store retailer. You will probably get different answers from just about everyone you ask, hunters are very loyal and have brand preferences. I for instance shoot bowtech and love them, i believe they are the best. But in all honesty each company has a slightly different product and stand out for different reasons. The best way to decide if its the right one for you is to pick it up, draw it a few times, shoot it if possible and see how it feels. The z is a great bow in the fact that it has a nice brace height for ease of shooting, a smooth draw cycle and solid wall, its a great bow for anyone beginner or expert. It is a bow that you could shoot for years with proper maintainence. I would buy that bow for myself if I was in your shoes.
