    Hi foremost Hunting!

I went out to Stockmans Farm Supply in Wilson, WI  yesterday for the free official measuring they were doing.  My 2010 buck scored 149 7/8 inches!  I paid the money for the Pope and Young record book and the State of WI book too.  I never thought I would get a deer into a record book, and he sure looks great on my wall too!

I shot this deer after a spot and stalk on Nov 13 2010 a cold wet snowing freezing rain miserable weather day.  I thought I made the perfect shot on a quartering away, bolting away deer, hit it behing the shoulder a little too far but it exited in front of the opposite shoulder and left a massive blood trail in a harvested corn field. I saw that blood trail and called my cousin for a 4 wheeler and trailer to recover the deer.  Little did we know it was a tracking job to last a couple hours!  I saved a Google Map of the event and thought I would share it here.

During field dressing the buck I found it was hit in 1 lung and went that entire distance on 1 lung!  It just goes to show that some perserverance pays off!

Here a picture of the deer in the truck.

    .

The words are linked right to the Google Map in the original post. I have a short story for the most interesting spots along the cold wet track right in the map too. Just so I could always remember them.
