Was planning on heading out and doing some duck hunting this weekend.  But with all of this rain, I'm going to pass it up.  They got seven inches in the central part of the state.  That'll have the birds really spread out and they'll have no ambition to come to a spread on a lake.  They got all the water they need in the fields right now.

I took a trip to the Northcentral part of the state this last weekend. Roads washed out, bridges closed, grass and brush pushed over where water had been running. Crazy amounts of rain.

My buddy went out to our usual opener spot anyway on Sunday. He said the lake was 3 feet higher than usual this time of year. Shot a few mallards and there was a few other guys getting a little shooting in but it wasn't as good as it usually is. Lots of water in the fields plus the fields being picked already is going to make it tough.
