    I was thinking of trying to build my own recurve bow.  Has anyone ever tried it and does anyone have any advice for me?

    A google search for building your own bow will turn up some pretty good results. Here are some pretty good plans I found on the net for building your own bow as well. I haven't tried these but they seem pretty good:
