Would like to report on a duck/goose calling contest " Calling for a cause" that was held today at Dances Sporting Good Store in Colonial Heights Va. The contest was co- sponsored by The Vawfa and all the $20.00 entry fees went to (The Wounded Warriors). I'm here to tell you that it was a very successful event with as many as 9 callers for the "Mainstreet Meat duck", 15 for "Meat duck" and 6 for the open comp. goose.
It's an event we started last year with the hopes of giving local callers a chance to have a warm up before the state duck and goose contest next month. BUT, with the callers and the public "getting behind the "contest, it's turning into a great way to give back to the vets.....and for this old salt, another chance to hear what I duck and a goose is "supposed to sound like
And the HOOTERS girls weren't too bad either!!
The results of the contest will be printed on our Vawfa wesite in a short while...check it out if you have time!
