Does anyone know how the pheasant populations survived in the midwest this year with all the heavy snows? I know here in SW Wisconsin we set some records for most snowfall in a season. It has to be tough on the birds.

Not too sure, I haven't seen many birds round my place this year.

The states should be releasing nesting reports soon.  It will be intresting to see how the birds did in the snow.  I know all the shoveling we did here in Wisconsin just about killed me.

I was talking to a friend in the Northwest corner of Iowa and he said that the first hatch looked really good.  Then they got hit with a bunch of rain like we did.  He said that the second hatch wasn't as good (obviously) but then they got hit with another round of rain that took most of that second hatch.  If I didn't enjoy hunting with family and friends, watching the dog and getting out of the office so much, I would probably be more worked up about low numbers.

Pork,

We are looking for a few good men. Give me a call. I think this would be right up your alley!
