This post is not duck related, it's all about deer....

In talking to the owner about our "Calling for a Cause" duck/goose calling contest today, He told us he is planning a "Deer Calling Contest using our same format.  Not only is it a great way to make some money for a charity of your choice, but it gives the store a chance to move some hunting related products and and also achance to meet and greet fellow hunters and compair notes.

Guess it could be done with yotes also

We co-sponsor it with Dances Sporting Goods

This was an idea we( Vawfa) cooked up 2 years ago . The  Sporting Goods store is one of our sponsors. We approached them with the idea of a "charity calling contest", it is scheduled at a time with they have a "waterfowl sale".   It's a win, win as we have a place to have a  community event, it  benifits "the sponsor", the Wounded Warriors", the callers get a tune up before the state duck& goose contest.

The store kicked in the prizes, paying out in the top four positions and the org. collected over $600.00 for the vets.

Anything to help our Vets is awesome. They have never received enough pay, acknowledgement etc... God Bless Our Troops.
