I hunt allot with a climber stand which presents some issues when selecting the right tree to sit in.  Do you guys think that  you should have branches behind or around you when sitting in your stand to break up your silhouette or if you high enough are you ok even if there aren't a lot of branches around you?

It really helps a lot if you can get something around you to breal up your outline.  I hunt in mixed hardwoods and I'm always looking for a straight tree and love it when I find a cedar growning close to it.   Sometimes if the tree has climbs 20 to 30 ft up.   up I go!

There is a camo company, I believe skyline camo that is designed for treestands. Instead of the dark patterns, it is light and intended for the deer to look up at you and blend your figure into the sky. It's a good idea and nice camo, but you should still breakup your outline because it is just un-natural looking to a deer.

When it is really cold I wear my light blue footiee PJ's high up in the tree.  I look like a big cloud.
