Many states across the US still do not allow crossbow hunting. If you would like to see the crossbow become legalized in your state join this group

    • Cajun ExecutionerI would like to thank everyone that has joined this group. I recently purchased a crossbow for the 2010-2011 hunting season. I am grateful that Louisiana has made it legal to hunt with X-bows. I think it will get more people out in the woods that otherwise would not hunt the archery season. I think the young kids today are more interested in playing video games than they are about learning to hunt and the crossbow is a wonderful way to introduce the kids to deer hunting and outdoors. Due to two past injuries to my wrist, it is difficult for me to draw and hold a even a compound bow. I can do it, but it is very hard for me to hold it steady. Thanks to the crossbow, I am able to still enjoy the archery season. I think the biggest problem the anti-crossbowers have with x-bows is they don't want the extra hunters in the woods with them. They don't want someone else getting that early season buck in their territory. It is not a matter of crossbows not being a bow. It is just about selfishness. I am not trying to ruffle feathers by that statement, it is just what I personnaly have encountered.
